The WinePod ep#13: Doña Paula Estate Wines from Argentina

In this episode of the WinePod I chat with the very amiable Marcos Fernandez, Head Winemaker at the Doña Paul Estate in Argentina. Listen HERE at Kevin Ecock’s Winepod wherever you listen to your podcasts.

Doña Paula is part of the Santa Rita Estates family which also comprises the Santa Rita, Carmen, Terra Andina and Nativa brands from Chile.

Marcos visited Dublin recently to take part in the Bloom Festival at which Doña Paula had entered a Show Garden titled, ‘A Matter of Altitude‘. To the delight of Doña Paula and Santa Rita the garden won the Overall Best in Show Garden award! This was quite brilliant as Bloom 2019 saw more Gold Medals awarded than ever before.

This placed Doña Paula Best of the Best

As it happens when I chatted with Marcos the judges had yet to deliver their verdict!

Doña Paula is Mendoza based and exploits an extraordinary terroir where extreme altitude, unique soils and a fascinating group of grapes combine to make exceptional wines.

In this podcast Marcos guides us through the Doña Paula range, vineyards and styles. It’s a fascinating story. Enjoy.

The winning garden was an Alan Rudden design.
