Last evening I received the news that wine writer Tomás Clancy had passed away. I noted the news with a two word exclamation, ‘oh dear’.

Tomás was an intellectual who served us wine insights with wit and charm. He was a genuinely funny and warm guy who brimmed with an endless knowledge. He never put himself above anyone else and always, always tried to learn more about wine as if he never knew anything at all.

Tomás you will be missed.
