WineOnline.ie is always a great browse. This week they bring us a Rosé from Roussillon (south of France near the Pyrenees) made by the very talented Irish vigneron Fergal Tynan. The wine is called Felicette and it’s named after a cat!

Besides the fabulous SPECIAL OFFER of only €60.00 for a 6 bottle case the label is just the best. It turns out that in 1963 Felicette was strapped into a French rocket and blasted 130 miles into space for 15 minutes. Look closely at the label and you see her in the space suit. Mad.
Here she is after a successful landing. Felicette still holds the record as being the only cat to fly into space!

Felicette (the wine this time!) is made with the Grenache grape and WineOnline.ie tells us:
“Bright and lifted, the elegantly expressed bouquet shows crunchy apple, raspberry, nectarine and subtle floral aromas with a hint of savoury undertone. The palate offers excellent focus and flow, together with fine texture and vibrant acidity, finishing persistent and mouth-watering.”

I’m now looking forward to matching my Felicette with a healthy serving of warm sunshine!
